By creating an account or using PickBits.AI ("PickBits", "we", "us", "our") — the website at pickbits.ai, the University, the Arcade, the Experimenters subscriber experience, and any paid Track Packs — you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What PickBits Provides

• Free content: articles, news, free University modules, the Arcade, the daily signal newsletter.
• Free PickBits Substack tier — how the email gate works: when you submit your email to the University email gate, the slim Experimenters banner, or any other lead-capture form on this site (unless you uncheck the Substack opt-in), we enroll that email address in the free tier of the PickBits Substack publication (pickbitsai.substack.com). The free Substack tier delivers new module drops, expansion guides, and the daily signal newsletter to your inbox. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the footer of any Substack email or via your Substack subscriber settings — unsubscribing from Substack does not affect your access to free site content captured by the email gate.
• The Experimenters: a paid recurring subscription that unlocks premium University modules across every track, premium features on every PickBits project, the weekly build call, and the Experimenters Discord. It is available two ways: billed directly by Stripe at $5/month or $45/year via /experimenters, or through a paid Substack subscription. Both are recurring and auto-renew until cancelled (see the billing terms below).
• Track Packs (one-time purchases): Vibe Coder Expansion, Field Guides Pack, Vibe Management Pack, and Solo Business Pack — each grants permanent access to that track's premium modules (this track only). Community perks (office hours, weekly build call, Discord, arcade Tier-2 unlocks) are not included in a Track Pack — those are part of the Experimenters subscription.
• 1:1 Coaching: standalone 60-minute video sessions booked via Acuity Scheduling.

The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen outages. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate planned downtime through the website or email.

Eligibility & Your Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• You may sign in with email + password, or with Google or GitHub OAuth via Supabase.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account, including keeping your password secure.
• You may only maintain one account per person. We may merge or close duplicate accounts.

Acceptable Use

You may:

• Use PickBits for personal learning, professional development, and the workflows it's designed to support.
• Use Track Pack content within your own work product without re-publishing the source material.
• Contribute to public PickBits open-source repositories under the licenses they're published with.
• Provide feedback to help us improve.

You may not:

• Resell, redistribute, sub-license, or post our paid content (Track Pack modules, premium University modules, downloadable bundles, coaching outputs) to third parties or public locations.
• Share login credentials or rotate one paid account between multiple individuals.
• Scrape, mass-download, or programmatically harvest content beyond what a normal browser request would access.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, its database, edge functions, or admin interfaces.
• Use bots, scripts, or automation to inflate XP, leaderboard scores, or arcade unlocks.
• Use the service for any illegal purpose, or to harass, defame, or harm others.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from PickBits proprietary content (open-source repos remain governed by their own licences).

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Track Packs & Subscriptions

• Track Packs are one-time purchases processed through Stripe. There is no recurring charge.
• You receive permanent access to the track's premium content for as long as your account exists.
• Each Track Pack includes 12 months of Founder-tier access from the date of purchase. After 12 months, the track content remains accessible but Founder perks (daily office hours, arcade Tier-2, etc.) revert unless you (a) purchase another Track Pack, or (b) maintain a paid Experimenter subscription (Stripe or Substack).
• Each Track Pack includes one 60-minute coaching session voucher, redeemable within 12 months of purchase via Acuity Scheduling.
• The Experimenter subscription billed by Stripe ($5/month or $45/year) is a recurring subscription that automatically renews at the end of each billing period using your saved payment method, until you cancel. By subscribing you authorize PickBits, via Stripe, to charge that recurring amount. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice before a renewal; the price shown at checkout applies to your current term.
• You may cancel the Stripe-billed subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal, reachable from the "manage billing" link on your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — your Experimenter access continues until then and no further charges are made.
• If a renewal payment fails, Stripe automatically retries for a short period; if it ultimately fails, the subscription is cancelled and your tier reverts to free.
• The Experimenter subscription obtained through Substack is processed by Substack, governed by Substack's own terms; cancellation is via the Substack subscriber portal.

XP, Levels & Arcade Rewards

• XP, levels, achievements, arcade unlocks, leaderboard positions, and flair badges have no monetary value.
• They cannot be sold, traded, or exchanged for real currency or other tangible goods.
• We may modify the progression system, retire arcade games, or adjust leaderboards at any time.
• Violation of these Terms may result in loss of accumulated progress.

Intellectual Property

The PickBits.AI brand, website design, copy, premium University content, Track Pack bundles, downloadable PDFs, and proprietary prompts are owned by PickBits and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service and (where applicable) the paid content you have purchased, for personal or internal business use.

Open-source code published under the PickBits GitHub organisation is governed by the licence file in each repository (commonly MIT). Those terms supersede this section for that code.

You retain ownership of content you submit (Discord handle, profile bio, contributed code, feedback) and grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it solely to operate, improve, and promote the service.

Third-Party Services

The service relies on third-party providers (see our Privacy Policy for the full list). Their availability and terms can affect yours. We are not liable for outages or changes in third-party providers' services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

PickBits is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, that the AI-generated content will be accurate, or that the service will meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PickBits and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunity. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time by emailing owner@pickbits.ai.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we have a reasonable basis to believe pose a security or legal risk.
• Upon deletion we remove your personal data per our Privacy Policy. Track Pack purchases are non-refundable on voluntary deletion (see Refund Policy).

Changes to Content & the Service

PickBits is a living, continuously-updated publication. We may, at our sole discretion and at any time, add, edit, correct, re-order, re-price, restrict, move, or permanently remove any content or feature — including articles, the daily signal, free and premium University modules, downloadable bundles, prompts, code samples, arcade games, and any other material on the service — with or without prior notice. We do this to keep content accurate, reflect new information, improve quality, comply with the law or third-party terms, or retire material that is outdated or no longer maintained.

Because of this, no specific piece of content is guaranteed to remain available, unchanged, or accessible at any particular URL indefinitely, even where you have paid for access to a track or subscription. If we materially remove or change premium content you have purchased, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an equivalent replacement or, where appropriate, a remedy under our Refund Policy. We are not obligated to retain, archive, or provide copies of content that has been updated or removed. By using PickBits, you accept that the service and its content will change over time and agree to these revisions. We recommend downloading or saving any material you wish to keep a personal copy of, as permitted under the Acceptable Use terms above.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the website or by email to your account address. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.
