Service records and invoices, finished on site
An app for a Phoenix pest-control business that records a visit once and creates two documents: the treatment record and the customer invoice. The technician can use it on an iPad, even in a driveway with no mobile signal.
What was getting in the way
A single-technician business used carbon-copy paper tickets. Each visit needed a record of the pest treatment, and most also needed an invoice. Details written in the driveway had to be entered again later. Unreliable mobile signal made an ordinary online form a poor fit.
What the technician can do
- Record the visit once. Choose the customer, services, products used, and treatment locations.
- Create the two documents. The service record contains treatment details with no prices. The separate invoice adds the charges and balance due.
- Work without a connection. Visit details stay on the device, so entering a job does not depend on mobile signal.
- Make a clear correction. Correct a saved visit and keep a record of what changed. The document shows that it was corrected.
At the end of a visit
The technician opens the customer's record, enters the work, and checks both document previews. There is no second round of typing the same visit for the invoice. Products, services, and customer-specific prices can be updated in the app.
What changed
The app is in daily field use. Records for 286 customers and 628 previous visits were brought over from photographed paper tickets, so the operator could start with the customer history already available.
This build follows this operator's treatment-record requirements. A version for another business would need its own forms and rules reviewed. Because records stay on the device, keeping a backup is part of running it. Sending a document online still requires a connection.
